Tires: 1999 F150 Tires, lt245, p245

Question
My sticker list as OEM tire size as 255/70/R16 which is what I have on now.. Can I put 245/75/R16 on my truck without any problems?

Answer
Jeff,

Ordinarily, these 2 tire sizes are interchangeable.  However, there is a difference between LT245/75R16's and P245/75R16's (which also includes tires with no "P").

An LT tire is designed to carry much more load than a P metric, but at a much higher pressure.  In fact, it requires 15 psi more to carry the same load.

So I am not a fan of replacing one type with the other.
