Tires: Tires, alloy rims, slow leak

Question
I own a 2004 Monte Carlo, bought new, has p225r16's Eagle tires, I am in need of new tires with 47000 miles on my car now, but from day one of owning the car, I have had nothing but trouble with the tires, constantly leaking all thru the winter and summer, the dealership couldn't seem to find anything wrong, but I was constantly airing them up. So my question is in buying new tires would this have anything to do with the tires not properly sealing to the rim? and could this be a problem with the new tires. or just bad tires?

Answer
Sheryl,

I'm going to guess the problem is with the rims.  Alloy rims are fairly porous and the clearcoat helps seal those pores.  It is not uncommon for the clearcoat to have problems and a slow leak developes - which may be why the dealership couldn't find anything wrong.
