Tires: Tire Pressure, falken tires, falken ziex

Question
I have replaced the Dunlop P275 60R18 tires on a 2006 Toyota LandCruiser with Falken Ziex S/TZ01 285 60R18 tires.  The recommended pressure inside the driver's door is 29 psi (front) and 32 psi (back).  At what pressure should I inflat the Falken tires?  Falken specifies 36 psi, but the SUV rides too hard. Why is there a difference in the front vs back psi?

Answer
Sam,

According to Tire Guides, a 2006 Toyota Lad Cruiser originally came with P275/60R18's inflated to 29 front / 32 rear - exactly like you said.

A to get the same load carrying capacity, a P285/60R18 needs to have 26 psi front and 29 psi rear.  But since pressure affects the handling of the vehicle, you may find that the original pressures result in a more stable vehicle.  Plus you'll get better wear, fuel economy, and better steering response.
