Tires: P215 70R14 Blizzac, aftermarket rims, stock rims

Question
QUESTION: I have 4 tires P215 70R14 Blizzac. I would like to buy 4 new rims and put the tires on my 2004 Honda Civic Si. Can I get a rim that will fit? And what should I be looking for? for example, it is a 4 bolt system but not all 4 bolts rims fit. Also how do I determine if the width of the tire will match the rim width? Thanks

ANSWER: Most tire and rim dealers will be able to accommodate you if you are looking for aftermarket rims.

However, if you are looking for an economical option a reputable salvage yard will be able to set you up.

As for the tire size that you give this is NOT the OE size for either the Hatchback(P205/55R16) or Sedan (P195/60R15).  The tires that you have may be tire large in overall diameter.  The size that you have are typically used on small pickups.

QUESTION: Thanks a lot Brett.
What does tire large mean? Will it damage the car or cause it to use extra fuel. I noticed that the tires are rather heavy compared to my summer tires. Would you suggest that I get other tires for my Honda civic sedan?

Answer
Dave,

The P215/70R14 is to large in diameter,as well as, to wide for your vehicle. In addition the tire that you have fits a 14" wheel while, your stock rims are 15"  IF it would fit in the fender well you would be at both body and mechanical damages.

I would suggest that you look into either a P195/60R15 or a P195/65R15 in a winter tread.  If you do this, you should not have any problems finding rims.
