Tires: tire, toyo versado, speed ratings

I have a 2003 ford focus and want to buy new tires.  What ones are the best in winter.  We are from Pa., it isn't really bad here,but I need to feel safe when driving and don't want to slide.  I have been reading about these speed ratings.  What is that?  Thanks G.

 My choice would be the Toyo Versado LX.  This tire is ALL SEASON rated and performs well in snow and rain.  Keep in mind that ANY tire will slide on ice.

 Speed ratings can get very technical and I want go into a lot of detail here.  A tire with a "T" speed rating will meet all your needs without any troubles...that is unless you plan on traveling in excess of 120 mph LOL.
