Tires: applicable tire pressure, 2007 mazda cx7, tire placard

Question
I have an '07 CX7 with a 255 55 18 tires mounted. What is the applicable tire pressure you can suggest?

Answer
Robert,

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker – commonly called the tire placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box – but sometimes it is located in the trunk or on the fuel filler door.

You need to find that placard and verify that the following information is correct.

My book says a 2007 Mazda CX7 originally came with 235/60R18 mounted on 7.5" rims inflated to 32 psi front and rear.  If this information is not correct, then what follows is also incorrect.

To get the equivalent load carrying capacity a 255/55R18 needs to be inflated to 30 psi.
