Tires: RV tires, fleetwood southwind, bridgestone tires

Question
Hi there,

I have a 199528ft Fleetwood Southwind on a Chevy P-30 chassis.     It currently has 10 year old Bridgestone tires in size 7.5R16LT.  The tire shop told me these tires are difficult to find because sizing has changed.  Is it possible to put a more modern size (wider) without clearance probs, particularly in the rear!  Something that is measured like a modern radial, as in 235/60R16 or something?

Thanks!!

Answer
Tim,

The people at the tire are correct, a 7.50R16 is hard to find and it's a fairly pricey tire as well.

A 215/85R16E will suit your needs and will give a better ride and tread life.  Also, this size is commonly stocked at most dealers.  Brand wise, Bridgestone, Cooper or BFG are good choices.
