Tires: Directional tire mounting, directional tires, mustang gt

Question
I have a set of Kumho Ecsta ZR rated directional tires on my 2003 Mustang GT. The tread on the driver's side faces the front of the car <<<<<< The passenger side tread faces the rear of the car >>>>>>. The store I bought them from says this is the proper mounting. I have never heard of directional tires mounted in opposing directions. I thought the purpose of the tread design in directional tires was for improved handling and performance. How could this be possible with the treads running in opposite directions? Can you tell me what is right with my tires?

Answer
Trey,

If the words "MOUNT THIS SIDE OUT" OR "MOUNT THIS SIDE IN" not molded into the sidewall then the "V" is required to point toward the front of the vehicle on both driver and passenger sides.  In order to maximize handling and to avert premature tire wear.
