Tires: tire noise, Tire Noise, Wheel Alignment

Question
At 51,000 miles on my 2000 Cavalier I replaced by tires in August, 2006.  2 years and 20,000 miles later it seems that the "new" tires (BFG Touring T/A P195/65/15)are becoming noisy.  The tires seem to make a "whop, whop, whop" noise.  Is this normal?

Answer
Kris,

No, this is not normal and it is usually caused by irregular wear - which in turn is usually caused by misalignment and aggravated by insufficient inflation pressure and/or insufficient rotation practices.

I'll leave it you to decide which of these is the most likely cause, but at the very least, an alignment is probably called for.
