Tires: Fix A Flat, michelin tires, warranty overview

Question
QUESTION: How come when it comes to Fix A Flat you have no idea what you're talking
about? On March 19, 2008, you answered a question by stating that both Fix
A Flat and Armor All void warranties from tire manufacturers. Your last
response was to check the warranty itself. So I did.

I checked warranty information for Toyo, Goodyear, Michelin, Continental,
and Yokohama, and not a single of those manufacturers voids the warranty
for either Fix A Flat or Armor All.

Clearly you work at a chain tire store like Discount Tire where people are
taught to ALWAYS replace tires, even if it's a rip-off to the customer. So my
question for you is ... will you get yourself properly trained before you anwer
questions like this?

ANSWER: You know Jacques, I really love when people like you ask me questions like this.  I really love how you come on thinking you know everything, but the sad fact is, you are wrong.

So without delay or even much effort here, here are the facts.

Lets start with the attacks on me first.

- No I do not work at a "chain tire store like Discount Tire".

In fact, I do not work for any tire store anymore.  If you read my profile, you would have known this.

- I am trained from Michelin at the Michelin school.  Have you ever been there?   Clearly not.  Alagin, if you had read my profile, you would have know this.

Now as I have said, and will keep on saying, is that any product like "Fix A Flat and Armor All" will and does void the warranty.

Now since I am trained by Michelin, I will stay with Michelin here.  I can not speak about the other junk tire companies you speak of.
But more or less, those products will void those also.

On page 3 ( WHAT IS NOT COVERED )

There are two parts here.

1- - Accident, fire, chemical corrosion, tire alteration or vandalism;

This part covers the chemical corrosion from the chemical product.

2- The addition of liquid, solid or gaseous materials other than air, nitrogen or
carbon dioxide (for example, waterbase sealers or balancing substances);

This is the main one.  The one used to void the warranty.
Clearly says. "The addition of liquid, solid or gaseous materials:.
Armor All is a "liquid".  Fix A Flat is a  "liquid" and a "gaseous".

Then there is the "for example, waterbase sealers".  That refers to Fix A Flat.

Therefor, voids the warranty.

And to answer the last question you had.  I am already "properly trained".  I believe you need "trained".  LOL.

Best of luck,
John

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I'm glad you take your "training" so seriously that you attempt to be condescending in all your answers. Unfortunately facts and logic aren't on
your side here so you fail.

Have I been trained? Yes. I not only have been trained by Michelin but also
Goodyear and Continental and Toyo. That's three whole companies more than
you.

Have I worked around tires? Yes. I've worked from tire buster to Director of
Marketing for a tire company. I don't know you personally but I'd bet anything
that I have more experience than you when it comes to tires.

I realize that you have a weird gay-like association with Michelin but they're
not the only company to make quality products. In fact tire dealers in the U.S.
have named Toyo as best in quality for most of the last decade. And I say
that as a Michelin employee. That's right. As you spout off about things you
barely know as a FORMER employee of a chain tire store I am currently an
employee of Michelin, working for their North American Distribution
company.

And one last thing ... like the person who originally brought it up I'm telling
you directly that you are reading the warranty wrong. Fix A Flat is not a sealer
or balancer. Michelin is SPECIFICALLY referring to chemicals that artificially
seal a bead or float in the tire to correct an imbalance. As an employee of
Michelin (specifically TCI) I would never train a dealer to tell customers that
they can't use Fix A Flat with our tires.

And that's why you've just been proven wrong. Sorry.

Answer
This is NO question here.

I give the facts that I stand behind.

Toyo is a cheap worthless tire.

John

P.S.-
"The addition of a substance to the tire, either fix a flat or armor all
would void the warranty if they are a factor in the tire coming out of
service.  Most times when you use fix a flat the tire has already been
damaged.  We don't recommend the addition of puncture sealant materials or
other additives because they can damage the tire.  Some tire treatments can
also damage the tire."
