Tires: Tires, hankook tires, inflation pressure

I recently purchased some Hankook tires. They are on the rear of my 2002 Honda Accord. They sound like I'm driving on either snow tires or Monster truck tires. It Roars all the time. Is this a conicity mismatch? Could it be the tire needs to be shaved? It's driving me crazy.....

The first thing I would do is check the inflation pressure.  If you are using the same size as the placard, then the placard pressure is what you should use to evaluate the noise.

No, conicity would not have anything to do with this.

Oh, I should mention that these were new tires - right?  If not, then they probably have irregular wear and it may take a long time before they wear a new pattern into them.
