Tires: Tire Pressure, correct tire pressure, gm trucks

Question
I just put new rims, 285/70/17 BFG ATs Load range D and a ORU leveling kit on my 2007 Silverado 2500 HD 4x4. What is the correct tire pressure front and rear for this set up ??

Answer
Randy,

On every vehicle sold in the US, there is a sticker - commonly called the vehicle placard - that lists the original tire size and the proper pressure for that size.  When different tire sizes are fitted, the load carrying capacity this combination represents is matched.

On GM trucks you will find the placard on the driver's doorpost.

Normally I can look up this information in a book called Tire Guides, but there are so many different combination of your truck I can't be sure which one you have.

I should also point out that there are letters associated with the tire size that indicate the type of service the tire was intended for - and these are important when determining load carrying capacity.

So I will need to know what your truck's placard says - including the letters.
