Tires: tire quality, douglas tires, tire quality

I`m retired and only put about 3,000 miles a year on my Ranger Pickup.  I drive "in town" 98% of the time.  The cheapest tire I can find are Douglas tires.  Are they a good buy for me?  I don`t see paying $100 per tire for no more than I drive.

They are junk tires ( Douglas  ).

Driving even around town or just in town, still requires good tires.  You want tires that will stop you with less slide.  Shorter stops.

I recommend the following tires.

Michelin
Uniroyal
BFGoodrich
