Tires: Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II, uniroyal tiger paw, uniroyal tiger paw awp

Question
QUESTION: John,

In the "Michelin tires..." thread, you recommended to the questioner that he should look at the Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP II tire.  I am replacing all 4 Dunlop tires (215/65R16) on my 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.  My tire dealer presented the Tiger Paw as one of the options available.

I went home to do some research on it and there are an overwhelming number of negative reviews on it.  The last Consumer Reports review (11/2005) had it rated as one of the worst performers.  And reviewers at tirerack.com pretty much rate it average.

One of the biggest complaints seems to be in its handling in wet conditions.  Lots of complaints about hydroplaning and loss of grip causing the ABS to engage more frequently.

Can you tell me why you rate the Tiger Paws so strongly and what might be some other good options in this tire size?

Thank you.
Gary

ANSWER: I am not sure what that link is, I checked it and it is a private profile.

What is your tire size?  What kind of car or truck?

I own the tiger paw awp since 2003 and am on my second set.

I have always had good reviews on this tire, and have never had one complaint.

I need more info to answer the rest.

QUESTION: Sorry John.  Not sure how I pasted the wrong link and I can't figure out how to edit it out.  If the question could be posted with that link removed it would be appreciated.

This is the correct link:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Tires-2359/2008/1/Michelin-tires-2.htm

The car is a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.  Tire size is 215/65R16.  Currently has Dunlops.  I don't have the car with me today so I don't recall the specific model offhand, but they are the originals from when I purchased the car.

Would the TigerPaws have been different back in 2005 when Consumer Reports did their reviews?  Perhaps not the "II" version?

Thank you.
Gary

Answer
I am not sure of the age of the tire.  Like I said, I have owned it for some time.
And I have never had a bad rewiew on it.

You may like the Michelin Energy LX4.

You will need to contact the Tech Support on allexpert to remove the link.
