Tires: Winter Tires, 2005 acura tl, acura tl

Question
I own a 2005 Acura TL which I which to purchase winter tires.  I live in Vermont, a snowy state.  My tire size is P235/45 R17.  I have been told I can save a lot of money by going to a smaller size P225/45 R17.  What are the drawbacks to doing this?

Answer
Real,

First, going down in size is also going down in load carrying capacity, and that is never a good idea.

But a 225/50R17 would not be going down in load capacity.

But a change in one size is not significant in the big scheme of things.  There will be more differences between tires than the size change.
