Tires: tires, front wheel drive, false security

Question
I would like to know on my front wheel drive autos, how often do  tires need to be rotated ? Since they told me I need to buy 4 tires not 2 even if the front ones has over half the tread
Thank you!

Answer
Lizz,

Tires, regardless of what vehicle they are on, should be rotated every 5,000 to 8,000 miles.  This will make the tires wear at more or less the same rate.

The most dangerous situation is where you have 2 new tires on the front, with the false security that the good tires need to be on the drive position - NO, the best tires should be on the rear to prevent the rear from spinning out first.
