Tires: Michelin Tires (245/40 R18 97H), 2005 audi a6, michelin tires

Question
Hi John,

I have Michelin lo-aspect ratio tires on my 2005 Audi A6.  Three of my four original tires have gone bad.  None could be fixed.  One had a sidewall blowout at 7000 miles (we do not believe we hit anything), one had a sidewall separation at 30,000 miles (again, we do not believe we hit anything), and the third was a blowout with a complete tire separation at 30,000 miles.  This time we heard a bang as we crossed a normal bridge expansion joint on route I-84 east over the Delaware River.  There was heavy holiday traffic, with cars ahead of us and behind, and no one else had a problem, but our car experienced heavy vibration immediately after we crossed the bridge, and our right front tire completely came off the rim about 300 yards later, as we attempted to pull over (the seal is still sealed but there is no tire).
There were 30,000 miles on this tire (it was our spare at  one time).

Michelin says there is no defect and this is our problem.  Have you heard of similar complaints?

Thank you for your response.

Answer
You need to have the tires looked at by a Michelin dealer.
Then call Michelin and talk to them.  Make sure you get fact answers on why.
If you do not get answers or feel they are wrong, then file a BBB complaint.
No I have never heard of this.
