Tires: Changing tire size on Nissan Quest, nissan quest, rim width

An earlier question was asked about changing from a 225-65-R16 tire for a Nissan Quest to a 216-65-R16 and your recommendation was a 216-70-R16 (maintaining an H rating). I asked a local tire dealer for his recommendation and he suggested a 235-60-R16. Would either be a better fit for the vehicle? The 235's are Goodyear H rated tires. Thanks for your input.

This becomes a case of what combination of things work better.

On the one side the P215/70R16 is more compatible with the rim width and more compatible with the "minivan" type of vehicle.  This would result in more even wear and soft ride.

On the other side the P235/60R16 is on the minimum on rim width which would tend to hurt wear and reduce the natural advantage a wider tire would have.  But it would still handle better.
