Tires: 30 x 9. 50R15LT, doorpost, cold weather

Question
If it has 50 psi cold, does this mean, for cold weather  my tires should be up to the 50 psi?

Answer
Justina,

The proper pressure for your vehicle is listed on the vehicle placard - provided the size is the same as listed there.  The placard is usually located on a doorpost or in the glove box.

But the size you quoted is not likely the original size, so the pressure has to be recalculated based on what the placard says.  So if you'll supply that info, I'll do the calculation for you.

But all tire pressures are specified as cold - except for pressure buildup due to operating conditions - and by "cold" it is meant at the ambient conditions (regardless of how hot or cold it is) and the tire hasn't been operated for 1 1/2 hours.
