Tires: extra load tires, max pressure, load index

If the tires are not called extra load but have a max pressure of 41 lbs. or 44 lbs. are they good for a van that calls out for extra load?

The tire description should call out XL, but perhaps you'll need to look at the Load Index.

But I can tell you this much.  If the max pressure is 41 psi, they are XL, but if the max pressure is 44 psi, they are not.  This probably seems counter-intuitive, and it is complex to answer why this is, but it has to do with the way the government regulation about the maximum pressure is interpreted by different manufacturers.
