Tires: volvo winters tires, jetta gls, winter tires

i have a jetta  gls and wondered if i can put a set of winter tires designed for v50 on the vehicle without changing the rims.  If so, is there any precautions in doing so?

You didn't tell me the year of your Jetta, but the important thing is I don't have a listing for a V50.  My list is for US vehicles only and it's over 300 pages, so it's possible that I overlooked the vehicle and it's listed as something else.
