Tires: F-150 Tire increase size if possible, size tire, rims

I have a 2001 F-150 that came with P255/70R16 tires.  I was wondering, if it was possible to go with a larger tire without having to change rims?  Is it possible to say go with a 265/75R16?

According to Tire Guides. your vehicle came with 7" rims and a P265/75R16 will fit on a 7" rim.  However, whether there is enough room in the fnderwells for that size tire is a question I can't answer, as I just don't have this type of info for all the vehicles that are made today.
