Tires: Carlisle Tires, carlisle tires, new carlisle

Question
Barry;  I just purchased 3 new carlisle tires for my 5th wheel.  I just had two separate on me on the trip home from the dealer I purchased the trailer from.  I asked the tire dealer if carlisle was a good trailer tire and was told that it is as good as any of them.  Now I am hearing and reading all of these horror stories about carlisle tires.  However, of all of the stories I read, only one stated the load range of his tires (load rating D).  The tires I purchased are suppose to be load rating E (10 ply).  Do you think that this will make a difference in the dependability of my tires.  By the way, the tires that were on the trailer from the dealer were 6 ply and I dont know the load rating was.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance

Answer
Phillip,

For some reason, trailer manufacturers don't use big enough tires.  So the answer is, yes, using a Load Range E (and more inflation pressure) is definately in the right direction.

But why stop there?  Why not weigh your vehicle tire by tire if you can and see what the loads actually are.  Once you have that info, you should add some reserve capacity - 10% would be good - 15% would be better.
