Tires: All Terrain Tires, bridgestone dueler a t revo, michelin ltx

Question
Hello !  Andrew Wallingsford,

I own a 05 Blazer LS 2dr. 2 wheel drive. It has the factory
Uniroyal's with 41.000 miles. I will need to replace them soon
and would "appreciate" your suggestions as to a solid built "yet"
resonably priced all terrian tire.

This vehicle is not 4 wheel drive so i need a tire with a more
aggresive tread pattern for off road use. The last time i went off
road was just after a rain storm and i was really dissapionted at
the amount of slippage i got from the Uniroyal's while driving
through muddy spots.
I live in the desert areas of Arizona, so i encounter alot of hard
dirt, gravel and sandy washes too. I rarely if ever drive in snow.
When i do travel to the forest areas of northern Arizona it is
usually during summer months which would include the
occasional rain storm.

The Uniroyal factory tires seem to be suited more for highway
than off road which i dont understand because the Blazer is a
truck. Most of my driving is highway "but" at the same time i
want to feel secure when off roading.

Any suggestions ? Thanks !
Ron

Answer
Hello Ron!
I believe the size that you have on your Blazer is probably a 235/70/15. If that is the case then you have several choices you have the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo, the Firestone Destination A/T, the Michelin LTX A/T(not sure of availability in this size) and the Goodyear RT/S. All are good tires, but I am favored to one which is the Dueler A/T Revo(i'm on my 2nd set). It is a very well built tire with great traction and considering what it is, as smooth and as quiet of a ride as possible. You can go to somewhere like TireRack.com and see actual consumer feedback and ratings on this tire and others which is very helpful because you get REAL feedback instead of having to trust the engineers and tire sales people. Let me know if you have any others questions!
