Tires: Car Vibrations, cv joints, accelerator pedal

Question
Hi Mr. Smith,
I have a Honda Civic EX 2001 and I recently went in for a tire rotation. Sometime afterwards, I noticed that whenever I am driving at high speed (50+) and I take my foot of the accelerator pedal to slow down or brake, the car vibrates and does so until the speed gets down to 30ish. Is this a problem with how my tires are set up ? Should I go ahead and have another rotation done to fix it up or is it something else with the engine maybe?

Thank you.

Answer
A vibration that is only present when you are accelerating or decelerating, is probably drivetrain related.  In your case, CV joints is the obvious place to look.

Tire related vibrations are generally present in the 50 to 70 mph range and are there regardless of whether or not you're accelerating, decelerating, or braking.
