Tires: Best tires for Solo II Auto-X, 17 wheels, season tires

Hi Barry,

I am going to try out in the Solo II auto-x. I will be racing my modified 2003 Mini Cooper S that I am guessing will be in the street prepared class. I have H Sport Springs and Comp sway bar as well as engine and transmission mods.

The car currently runs on 17" wheels with 205-45R17 Runflats. I garage the car during the winter, so I don't need to go with all season tires.

Can you pint me to the best type of tire to go with?

Since this area changes so rapidly, the best places to get this answer is from the folks who are actively involved.  Talk to Tire Rack and they ought to be able to tell what is selling.  Talk to the competitors and they ought to be able to tell you what's working for them.
