Tires: Tires, 2000 ford windstar, bj s club

Question
Hi Jack
I need to buy a new set of tires for my 2000 Ford Windstar.
Recently I have bought a set of six tires for a motor home and a set of six for a Ford Duly, Some of the tires(less then 300 miles) treads separated or just plain blew out, I replaced them with more tires. All the tires were purchased from Direct Tire, and Two different Ford dealerships.
I think some of the tires were several years old sitting on a warehouse rack someplace and some were imperfections.
My question is, How to pick a tire dealer that I can trust and what should I ask or look for?
Thanks, Jim

Answer
Jim, I always go with a name brand. Michelin being the best. BF Goodrich or Brigstone are OK. I don't care for Goodyear, Firstone or Uniroyl. These three make offbrands for some of the tire outlets.  Try Sam's Club, BJ's Club or Discount tire.  You may have to spend a little more but in the long run you will come out ahead and have a safer tire.
