Tires: Tires slowly losing air, honda civic lx, dunlop tires

Question
Hi Jack,

Two of my tires have started slowly losing air more frequent.  One is located on the rear passenger side and I seem to have to put air in every 5 days and the other is the front drive side and I have to put air in it every day.  This just started happening last Thursday when I did not even go anywhere for 3 days. I can not see any nails or holes that are visible to the eye. I can not feel any air coming out.  I checked the stems they seem to be okay. My car is a 2003 Honda Civic LX with Dunlop tires size 14.  I have a little over 46,000 miles.  The treading looks okay.  Any suggestions or advice that you can provide to me will be very helpful.

Answer
Hello, Angela
You can try having the tires dismounted and the rims cleaned in the bead area. On most LX Hondas the rims are alumimun and it can build up a deposit between the tire and rim. Once this happens you can't get a good seal. The only other thing you could try is taking a spray bottle with a little soap and water. Spray all around the bead and valve stem and see if it bubbles.

Good luck
Jack
