Tires: Tire question..., tire life, maintance

Question
Tim:
Recently, I passed a tire shop and saw a sign advertising that they could fill tires with nitrogen.
What's the purpose in doing that?  Is nitrogen safer than just plain old pressurized air?

Answer
Hi David

It's a very good idea and safe to use,Even though it's expensive to keep up the maintance on the machine to fill the tires with in the future they are worth it . It's supposed to last three to five times longer and reduce the need to check air pressure,The constant pressure wears more evenly, and tires last longer than those that wear unevenly. And Tires run cooler and retain less heat which reduces wear to the tire life.   Hope this helps
