Tires: winter tires, pirelli p6000, seat ibiza 2003

Question
Hello sir,

I have a seat ibiza 2003, 1200 cm3, with pirelli P6000 185/60/R14 tires. Now I want to change tires with a winter type. 185/65/R14 are OK for my car or are to large? 175/70/R14 are better?
Thanks

Answer
As a general rule, winter tires should be as narrow as possible while still maintaining the load capacity.  Narrow tires concentrate the pressure on the snow, forcing the tire towards the pavement.  Even a little contact with the pavement is better than a lot of contact with the snow.

So a 175/70R14 is a good choice.
