Tires: uneven tire wear, ford explorer 4x4, inflation pressures

Question
I have a 1991 Ford Explorer 4X4.  I had the tires rotated and aligned and I am still having excessive tire wear on the inside front left tire.  Could you tell me what most likely is needing to be repaired on the front end?

Answer
Kevin,

Once a tire has developed a wear pattern, you can't go back and undo it.  So if you are absolutely sure that the tires didn't have excessive wear before they were rotated, then I would start looking at worn components.

IMHO, the alignment tolerances as published by vehicle manufacturers are too wide by half, especially for toe.  This might be what is contributing to the excessive wear.

Also, inflation pressures are extremely important in minimizing wear.

Hope this helps.
