Tires: wheel studs, wheel studs, stud bolts

Question
Barry,
I have a 73 GMC 23' motorhome. Im planning to use 6- 16x6 alcoa classic # 160231 wheels , TR543 valve stems, alcoa lug nuts # 139987, Should I be overly concerned about not buying new stud bolts GM # 704922 for the hubs? The GVW is 10500. I would like to not have to pull the front end apart to install the new studs, its front wheel drive. Among the other GMC,ers the talk is that over 600 of the change overs have been done without a tire coming off.
I also plan to install Dean wildcat all season 225/75/16/E tires that have a 40,000 mile warranty would this tire be a good match for this Wheel and motorhome, main use is mountain driving.

Answer
Marc,

The key to wheel studs is how much thread is used to hold the wheel on.

Look at your old studs and nuts and determine how many threads are used to fully engage the nut, then check to see if you have that many with the new thicker wheels.

The tires?  My book doesn't go back that far, but find the placard on your vehicle and see what the tire size and inflation are.  If the size is appropriate, you should be OK.

Hope this helps
