Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: 1st street bike, riding dirt bikes, honda cbr600rr

Question
I'm 15 and will be getting my motorcycle lisens in under a year. i have been riding dirt bikes most my life and currently have a 125cc 2stroke mx race bike. i have been looking around at bikes and have become fond of the Honda cbr600rr and the ninja zx-6r. the only thing is most people are saying the 600 and 650 bikes are bad to learn on and they recommend starting on a ninja 250. i was wondering if because I'm not new to motorcycles i would be abble to go strait to the bigger bikes? thanks

Answer
Street bikes are totally different than dirt, and the 600 fours are a handful, even for experienced riders. Having twostroke 125 experience helps, but there's still no comparison.

You could probably safely start with a Ninja 250 or 500, or even a Suzuki SV650, but wait until you've got lots of street experience before buying a 600 sportbike. The insurance alone will kill you!
