Question

sideview
'Frontcar' coupling complement.
Free concept, everywhere except Brazil, a far country.

The half-frame would support two steering wheels plus a protection arch with hanging seatbacks and safety-belts. Could protect very better than helmets and clothes. It would weigh more than a sidecar, but limits even two occupants at the motorcycle (for single people).

Answer

Carver 1
In my view, this is not even a question. It seems to be a way of promoting an idea, although well intentioned as it may be a way to improve safety. Systems like this have been proposed by many manufacturers in the past, from Morgan in the UK to BMW and Honda. In the Netherlands there is also a vehicle already on the market which has the combined features of the motorcycle and the car. The Carver is a more practicable concept in my view as it is designed from the beginning to be such a vehicle, not an additional component or alteration to an existing vehicle.
Such a design as this that you have sent would be unachievable in reality. A vehicle designed from the beginning is ultimately far more reliable and practical than any alteration or adaptation kit. Look at history for a lesson, the original concept of a sidecar was "improved" to give us the 'sidewinder', a sidecar that leaned with the cycle, by way of a cantenary linkage to the cycle. This design, although well intentioned and seemingly sensible, died within months of going into production. There are still examples out there but certainly nowhere near anticipated levels.
This submission is, in my view, an advert but make up your own minds. I don't usually answer comments like this but thought this deserved at least some response.
