Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Choosing on a bike, yamaha fazer 600, suzuki intruder

I am a beginner motorcyle rider trying to pick out my first bike. I am 6'7 and find that I don't fit well on any smaller bikes and even do not sit comfortably on like the V Star 1100. My knees are way too high. I found a Vulcan 1600 which fits me great and would fit my wife great too after getting some experience of course. I just don't know what would be a good option for me... Any thoughts may help... Thanks

You're in luck! I'm about the same height as you! (6'6").

I'm guessing from the bikes you suggested that you're after a cruiser? I ride mainly touring/sportsbikes and find the Yamaha Fazer 600 fits me really well. As for cruisers what about a Suzuki Intruder, they are fairly big cruisers.

I hope this has helped you a bit! Really you just need to go to a bike dealer that has lots of the same type of bikes that you like and just spend the day sitting on them. That sounds like a vague answer but it really is the best way to find the right fit. Do a test ride on a couple when you think they would fit you OK.
