Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: What size, size bike, dirt bike

Question
What up i am a new rider i have never had a bike i want a new sport bike but i do not know what size to get. I am 6' 3" 300 pounds so i need a nice size bike so can you recommend the size of the bike.

Answer
You should NOT buy a sport bike until you have at least a few years of experience on a less powerful, less high-strung machine.

I recommend you look for a dual sport (street legal dirt bike) in the 450-650cc range as a first bike. They're plenty tall and plenty able to haul you around. Plus, they're easy to ride and not expensive to repair when you fall down or tip it over--and you will.

General advice for a new rider is to buy a bike no larger than a 500cc if it's a 4-cyl, no larger than 650cc if it's a 2-cyl.

Plan on riding your first bike for several thousand miles before moving up to a sport bike. A dual sport or smaller bike will be much easier to learn on and gain skills and confidence.

The bike you're lusting after is almost always NOT the right bike when you're a beginner. Trust me.
