Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Safe weight, seat designs, bike owners

Question
My husband just purchased a 1895 goldwing limited, we are both overweight, he, 350 me, 240. We used to ride together 20 years ago-(b/k-before kids). So now we need to know if there is a seat extender so my husband doesn't feel 6'3" like he is to far forward, and the second part of the question, how much weight can or should the bike take on.
thanks in advance

Answer
To be honest, I'm not sure if I can answer this question as I've never come across a problem like this but I'll give it a go.
Usually the bike owners manual will have any weight limit imposed on the machine. I'm not sure what you mean by your husband feeling too far forward at 6'3" on a Goldwing as they are quite a big machine, especially the interstate version. The 1300cc is quite a lot bigger than the 1100cc version. I'm not aware of any seat extenders being available because of safety concerns but there are alternative seat designs available as an add-on such as the King and Queen type. I would contact your local dealer to see what is available.
I hope this helps and I'm sorry that I can't help further.
Good luck.
Andrew.
