Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Insurance, insurance estimates, ninja 250

Question
Hey im 16 and im looking at getting a crd 600 4 cylander. Im aware of the dangers on them and i know how to take it easy. Im wondering if you have to have insurance in minnesota.

Answer
You are required to have liability insurance on all street vehicles in Minnesota.

I don't know what a CRD 600 is...I assume you mean a CBR600. When I was 20, I wanted to buy one, and the insurance estimates were $2500-4000 a year. You'd best start looking for a smaller bike--I recommend a Ninja 250 or 500.

And trust me, you are NOT aware of the dangers of 600 cc inline-four sport bikes. I know you think you are aware, but there's a lot more to it. You should spend your first few years on a smaller bike so you can learn the techniques you need to survive, then move up to a bigger sportbike.
