Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: smoke at startup -new bike, new yamaha lagenda, head gasket

Question
QUESTION: i have bought a new Yamaha lagenda 110cc, its hardly a week old but i notice white smoke every time i start the bike cold, smoke lasts for a few seconds only. the first few days the bike would not even start when cold, needed alot of attempts, i took it back to the dealer they cleaned the carb, the start problem is gone however the smoke at startup is still there.
ANSWER: What part of the world do you live in?  Specifically, I would like to know the temperature and humidity where you live.

Let me know.  Cheers

QUESTION: live in east malaysia, the temperatures are in the high 20's and low 30's celcius, humidity is high 80% or plus. the smoke problem hardly effects any of my friends bikes here, thats why i am concerned, and i just noted 2day the bike was difficult to start when cold, seems like that old problem might just be coming back.

Answer
I live in the same region.  No, the tempurature is not the issue (I thought you may have been from a colder climate).

This bike should not be smoking.  However, this is a problem that has been reported by others who purchased  this bike, but I'm not certain of the cause.  Could be problem with the head gasket or valves.

There may be an issue that Yamaha already is aware of, but need to check with them first.

Will send you info tomorrow afternoon.

Cheers
