Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: moped in HK, honda mopeds, suzuski

I have recently moved to Hong Kong from the US and would like to purchase a used moped to explore the country roads and get out of the city.  I'm new to this game and don't know much about the brands our there.  There are the usual suspects; Honda, Suzuski, Yamaha,etc.  Does Honda generally make a long lasting bike no matter how many cc?  Lastly, what is the lifespan of a moped? 15k?  30K? 50K?

I am intimatly familiar the Hong Kong Moped environment. One simple rule exists - if you want dependability, buy a Honda.   Lifespan?  I've seen some "Honda" mopeds in Vietnam what have over 1,000,000K and they are still going strong.  Shabby to look at, but still going.
