Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: bikes, suzuki gs 500, honda cbr600

hello there,

I am entering my 3rd year of biking and am ready to get something with better performance than my ole Virago 535 and 1980 kickstart, Yamaha 500! i learnt on a Suzuki GS 500, and would like something a bit faster than that really. Can you recommend a possible suitable bike? I am also a girl so a slightly lower set bike is preferable - I'm not really short but don't want to be on tip toes...

Hi Bek,
If you don't have a specific brand in mind (Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, etc) then the best action that I could recommend is to take a day and visit all the motorcycle dealers in your area.

Otherwise, without knowing your size, shape and riding style it's going to be very difficult to make a suggestion.  

Also, what style do you prefer?  Touring, Sport touring, Sport?  

However, since you’re also a pilot, I’ll assume that you have a typical pilot’s personality, etc.  Therefore, for you I would suggest the 2004 - 2006 Honda CBR600.  

From what you've told me, I think you'd fit that bike pretty well.  Personally, I have a CBR1000 and couldn't be happier with it.
