Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: safety, motorcycle safety foundation, crash statistics

Question
Hi, Statistically speaking, is there any motorbike which is safer that other bikes? Is Honda safer than yamaha/Which model is safest(only by statistics)(of course safety depends on the rider, training etc.But from crash statistics which make/ model has least incidence of crashes?

Answer
The only reliable statistics are available from MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation).  They are reluctant to point fingers at specific type of motorcycles.

Typically, the difference between safe and unsafe is the result of training and proper riding equipment.  In other words, it is a difference in attitude.

Normally, you'll find that younger riders are usually the ones who are more likely to be involved in accidents.

In addition, you'll find that these riders typically choose to ride sport bikes.

I hope this helped.  For more details, you could visit the MSF website at http://www.msf-usa.org
