Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Frame sliders, suzuki katana, frame sliders

I have a 2005 600 suzuki katana and there is no one that makes frame sliders. I wanted to know how safe it would be if I where to  adapt a set of sliders by drilling through the frame. Would this put the frame and myself at risk or will it suite the purpose?

I wish I could tell you, but I don't know. I think it would be okay.

I believe I have seen both riders and racers attach sliders by drilling through the frame, but I'm not 100% sure. It could be the holes are already there? I doubt it.

Either way, I've never heard of frame sliders compromising the frame's integrity. You are probably okay to drill a couple small holes for the purpose without putting you or your frame at risk.
