Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Availability of Hi-Viz Running Lights?, yellow bulbs, fog lamps

Question
Hi, Pat -
Do you know of a source for not a headlight, but the dual headlamps used on the front of a motorcycle as extra headlights or as running lights, but in either Hi-Viz yellow/lime or some other color that would stand out?  I think I'd be safer (your third degree of separation) from car drivers to my front if I ran with a pair; what I'd really like would be a manual switch that might modulate such a pair.  What do you think?
Thanks! Am reading your "Ride Hard, Ride Smart" and am still learning!

Answer
I think PIAA (Pacific NW, USA) and Hella (Germany?) are the two major players for running/fog lamps. Here's a site that shows some of the different offerings:

PIAA is a familiar name for motorcycle products, and they offer both bright white and yellow bulbs. There may be a way to combine a certain color bulb with a certain color lens to get the color effect you want.

There are probably numerous off-road lamp suppliers/manufacturers who also make the types of lights you're hoping for.

Thanks for buying my book! I hope you're enjoying it. Ride well, read well.
