Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: the height and weight u need, yamaha fzr400, ex500

Question
hi there i have been driving a 125 cc for two years and after three years i have the urge to get the bike now. im plannin to have a r6 my question is im only 5.5 and 52 kgs will this be a disadvantage for me to have my r6 or is totally out of question to even think about a r6. i would like you to help me here whether the height and weight of a person matters here

Answer
The 600s are pretty tall. You'll have to sit on an R6 to really see if the fit is right. You may decide you're better off with a different 600, or a smaller bike--a Yamaha FZR400 might be the ticket, or an older CBR600. The GS500, EX500, and SV650 all are a little shorter and more manageable.

However, if you're a good rider sometimes the height isn't much of a problem. You may not be able to get both of your feet planted on the ground at stops, but many experienced, shorter riders do just fine.

You're just going to have to try a few bikes to see what is comfortable for your skill level. The R6 is a great bike, but it's not the right bike for everybody.
