Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: DWI..., lisense, due time

Question
I have been arrested for DWI, and i heard if you do get arrested for DWI though you may not be able to drive a car, you can still get a bike lisense.. is this true?

Answer
James,

It depends on which state you live in as to whether you can ride a bike instead of a car, so check with the DMV. You may have to check with the police as well.

Depending on your conviction (if you hit someone, etc), you can usually get your regular license back in due time, usually 6 months to a year.

In most states, once they take your license away or suspend it, you cannot legally drive or ride anything, including scooters.

So check with the cops or the DMV to find out what your state specifies.

Good luck,

Bill
