Motorcycle Safety & Driveability: Inline 4-cylinder cruisers, cylinder bikes, cruiser motorcycles

Question
Does anyone make an inline 4-cylinder cruiser anymore? It seems like everywhere I look, all I see are V Twins. The only 4-cylinder bikes left are also V versions: Honda's 750 Magna and Yamaha's V-MAX.

Answer
Not to my knowledge. All the money in manufacturing cruiser motorcycles is in copying H-D these days.

There's probably a reason for it--the V2 has a good range of torque, whereas the I4 has quite a peaky powerband. I think it comes down to how the rider uses it, and the typical cruiser rider isn't interested in top speeds or lofting the front wheel at 60 mph. Low-end and midrange power is more useful at reasonable sightseeing speeds.

The only one I can think of would be the old Kawasakis:  Eliminator 900, KZ and LTD 1000,. The Eliminator was absolutely one of the most breathtaking cruisers I've ever seen, and fast. If you can find one, you should buy it just for the aesthetic value! I know there are a few nice ones still around. A buddy recently sold his to buy a racebike....
