Sam,

Thanks for the question. Hello from Portland, Oregon, USA.

Congratulations on your new  motorcycle.

To properly use the clutch, you pull the clutch handle in, then change the gear with your left foot, then let the clutch out gradually to engage the gear. You must use the clutch when shifting up gears and when shifting down as well. If you don't, you will damage the gears on your motorcycle. Using the clutch properly is very important. Using it correctly will keep your motorcycle running good for many years.

You shift gears on your bike when you feel the engine is running very fast. Then it is time to shift to the next gear. Generally, you need to shift gears about every 10kmh.

Be sure to wear a helmet and proper clothes while riding. When I ride, I wear boots, gloves, heavy pants and a helmet. I make sure my motorcycle is ready to ride. I check the oil level, tire air pressure and safety lights one a week. Even though my motorcycle is almost 20 years old, it runs like new because I have taken care of it. If you take care of your new Eliminator, it should last many years.

I hope that helps. Good luck and ride safely.
