Question
hi..
i am from mumbai..i recently got a new bajaj eliminator..
i am use to riding other bikes before like splendor, pulser and stuff..
can you tell me the correct way to ride a bike ?
i mean when exactly to change the gear and stuff...i belive most of the riders are not very clear about this...

Answer
Hi Sameer,
Thanks for writing to me. Yeah, you're right - lots of riders don't know the right technique. I suggest you ask me specific questions - riding is too broad an area to give general tips. However, as regards the gear shifting, people generally ride by ear - if you have an rpm meter, 3500 - 4500 is a good time to shift. Over-revveing will strain the engine while under-revving will cause knocking.
Get back o me with more specific quesitons.
Good luck,
Anil
