Used Cars: used car problems, salvage yard, car problems

Question
We just got a used car off Crag's list in our area. The add said runs, drives great, very dependable. When we picked up the car they told us they just but new breaks on but it might need shocks on the back.  When we took it to have it checked at our mechanics in the first week he told us it was unsafe to drive and should go straight to the salvage yard.  The break cylinder was blown and the back of the car was gone from rust.  There was no place to attach a strut or shock.  With no contract or written warranty.  They do not want to work with us for a refund or return. Do we have any case under the Lemon Law in Indiana?

Answer
Hello I am so sorry for the delay. I have been out of town for my sons graduation.   I am not sure of Indiana law but if you were in Michigan you would not have a case against the seller. I'm sure thats not what you were hoping to hear, the "Lemon Law" only applies to New vehicles that cant be fixed after multiple trips back to the dealership.  On used cars their isn't any warranty unless it "written".  Good luck and sorry I don't have better news for you.
Again I am sorry for the delay.  Take Care, Shane
